This past weekend would have normally been filled with laying on a beach, in another country, drinking whiskey for breakfast (This is a judgment free zone!) celebrating our anniversary. However, the way COVID-19 swooped in and changed all of our lives, we had to adjust our plans.
With most places being closed, I didn’t have many expectations to celebrate outside of our home. With that being said, my husband came all the way through with ensuring that we had a wonderful weekend celebration.
Let me say, surprises are NOT my thing. I’m a planner and I like to know what’s going on. So I was floored when Brenda, {Massage therapist with Now and Zen Bodywork}pulled up to the house. I had the best 60 minute deep tissue massage! Not only was she super sweet and professional, she also gave me some tips on managing my problem areas on a day-to-day basis! Once my massage wrapped, I had no idea the surprises would keep on rolling in. Chef Curtis, with Ambiance @ambianceenc on Instagram, came through and blessed us with a private, in-home, five-course meal! {I’m literally still full} The attention to detail that my husband put into curating the perfect menu composed of all of our favorite dishes, was everything! Not to mention the spoken word / poetry Chef Curtis delivered in between each course! The food was delicious. We seriously felt like we were at a five-star restaurant, minus the wait + drive. As someone who cooks daily, it felt really nice to enjoy a meal prepared by someone else and to not have to do dishes! He can totally borrow my kitchen anytime!
We were literally in a food coma after eating. We ended our evening with our favorite pastime. Me agreeing to watch a movie only to fall asleep within the first 15 minutes! I don’t know what it is about watching a movie past 6 p.m. that takes me down. Thankfully, after nearly 20 years of watching movies together, my husband never complains and always wakes me up to go get in the bed.
So cheers to another year of marriage.
To standing in love.
To getting on each other’s last nerve + STILL choosing each other every day.
Aww, that was the sweetest brother! May God continue to bless and keep you both together; forever ❤️
